I’m completely out of time, but I gotta tell you about this one.
My touchscreen adventures with w960
As I remember I got w960 in February last year. I really take great care of this phone, but touchscreen stopped working twice already in this as some might say short period of time. I’m one of them btw.
First time it stopped working I was sitting in a chair which FYI was incredibly low, I dropped out of my hand, it hit the floor (with some sort of rug on it). My colleague at the time is driving us home from work, rain is … ballistic, insane trash containers are on the streets, aaah mayhem!
I grab my phone to take few pictures or something, touchscreen is not reacting … I restart it, it’s still not working. We’re going through this lake, car is about to stop running. Ok now I hard restart, nah still not working. I curse and swear at it for the rest of the way back home and keep threatening it that I’ll switch to Nokia.
Find a solution
I think about going to Zagreb or Belgrade just for few hours and go to official Sony Ericsson centre to have it fixed within half an hour. It’s a long story but my w960’s hometown is Wien, you can’t even buy in Bosnia. Nevertheless, after contacting Sony Ericsson in Zagreb, they give me this company in Mostar (I won’t name anyone) and that they’ll handle it just fine. I send it to them, they had to order stuff from Zagreb, cuz as the “boss” said, this phone is a collectors item. Yeepee.

I believe I’ll break many hearts with this post, some may agree, and some may not. What I definitely want to state before even writing anything is that this isn’t hate talk or anything like it, but just simply being completely objective, and looking at this whole Google thing from a distant stand point, and of course only present you with most obvious facts.
Now get yourself a cup of coffee, play the most metal, aggressive, brutal, music you have on your comuter and let me take you to a journey of hatred ;)
How Google and I met
First of all, I started using Google around ~99 this isn’t a short time period, almost ten years eh? I remember I was using Altavista and Astalavista (for those who remember good old times) which was such a great search engine, it just kicked ass. Then I can’t remember what happened to it, but to put it simple, it was gone. Then I actually switched to Yahoo for a short period of time; however, back then you simply couldn’t find anything, if you were looking for something … oh man, sometimes if you’re looking for something really “stashed” your search could be prologue up to half an hour.
And then one day I heard about this thing called Google, “Googled” for the first time and viola, I was there within matter of seconds! It truly came into my life as some kind of epiphany.

Ok, why do I like, VirtualBox, well because it’s fast, stable, free (duh). But there is one problem that is just killing me. And few days I found a solution for the same.
1. Add usbfs group
# groupadd usbfs
2. Add your ass to that same group
# usermod -a usbfs username
3. vim /etc/fstab
4. Add //
# my vbox usb support
none /proc/bus/usb usbfs devgid=500,devmode=664 0 0
5. VBoxManage list usbhost
6. Restart the system
Please note that devgid=500 (in my case its 500) in your case it’s probably different, it’s the number of your vboxusers group …
This work, this adds usb support to your VirtualBox, but not the one I wanted, so again I had to move back to VMware Workstation. But since just recently SUN acquired VirtualBox, I’ll be watching its development progress.
