We had to, of course, do our part and help out by spreding the word in Tuzla, so here are some of pics of us pasting the posters:
Java Java Java …
Old, weird, kills on resources, hey but it works on all platforms out of box! No shit, someone once said: Java is like fucking in the ass, but you have no idea who you’re fucking, wheter male or female, goat or cow, it doesnt mater. And that’s absolutely truth.
Here’s more, for Java to work you of course have to have their Java Runtime Environment, usually referred as j2re. So I go on Java site, download “Self-Extracting .rpm”, followed whole procedure, did get it extracted, but I didn’t get .rpm as it said I’ll get. Tried “urpmi -y java” found, j2re-gjc… which isn’t really fully compatible … So remove it.
Since my recent switch to Mandriva 2007.0 one, thing that bothered me the most is that ugly blue color! Of course another sleepless night :) And I’m finally done pimping it, so why not share it :)
Let’s not forget, that same ugly blue color made me explore beauties of beryl and etc…
Since I changed all colors on it, here’s a quick to-do on all things. For style I use lipstik (urpmi lipstik), for ugliest window decoration (blue of course!) I had to upgrade to beryl, (mostly cuz of idiotic compiz theme manager) how I did that you can find in one of the previous post.
I changed that pretty cool, galaxy kde splashscreen, but the problem is that it isnt full screen, (urpmi moodin), then find some really cool splashscreens based on moodin engine. There were only two things left …
Beryl, except changing their name (ex name is Compiz), there are really some big changes.
First yesterday I installed Mandriva Free 2007.0 after I figured I’m gonna stay on this distro for awhile, it came with compiz, which is ok, but the problem is that I cant stand blue color. And its window decoration is blue, so I had to do something about it. Last night I played with compiz, no help.
Today a certain person got me into installing beryl. First, I didn’t give a shit about this whole animated, 3d, interactive stuff … blah blah, kids play. I did turn off XGL at one point, but got back on it, and this blue theme had to be changed so I had to do something.
Few days after my dissapoitment with Slackware 11.0. I was thinking between Mandriva 2007.0 and Gentoo. I tried Mandriva first, it impressed me, and I got stuck on it.
Distro is a very rigid and good distro, but there was one problem. On XGL (Comiz) when I would play video, and come close to monitor you would see white/blue dots.
I tried changing video players, downloading codecs, downloading drivers. But nothing happened. I tried this on two laptops which both have intel chipsets and its video cards.
First one is, older generation:
