Ubuntu SE

This is pretty much irrelevant to anything, but just wanted to let you know that I bumped into Ubuntu SE (Satanic Edition) … http://parker1.co.uk/satanic/

What’s in it? I really couldn’t care less. As it looked and as it looks now, there’s gonna be a JE (jewish edition) and I really cant get to see that server hurting Smile

hahahahhaha this shit´s starting to be a cliche now…

  • BrencelJ

I’m happy that I left from ubuntu/kubunto and went on gentoo man I’m really glad because they will fucked up whole distro with this kind of shit. :S

  • AbsintheSyringe

Ubuntu is there .. just to use, nothing else, you dont not even need to know anything about computers, not only linux to use it.

And again, it has some problems that only experiences linux users would know how to solve. So my rating for ubuntu? Really not recommended, I think suse definetely does its thing.

And about distros, I’ve been using fedora for not even a month now, and I really couldnt be any happier. Slackware just made me sad cuz it isnt “bleeding edge” unlike fedora. Again I really wouldnt recommend it to everyone, if you ‘ve got problems, konsole Smile

And gentoo would be my choice, if it wasnt for fedora Smile It’s definetely good, but I just found it to be weird Smile

  • change_

    heheh

gentoo is the shit man….but you need a nice internet link….

and bih.net has taken care of that….you’ve got everything on the free-zone Wink

it’s a great choise if you ask me…

and it’s not wierd…you just have to use it for 2 days to see that Smile

  • AbsintheSyringe

Just like when I was looking for “something” and I bumped into Slackware, I said this is what I was looking for (during install), same thing happened with fedora. I’m really not planning not to switch distros, unless fedora fucks me up on something.

Currently it couldn’t suit me better.

  • BrencelJ

Gentoo really needs internet connection but it is great when you get to know it Razz.

But ubuntu is really a sucky distro it is distro for ppl who want free os and doesn’t know Linux. Suse needs more Linux knowing so it is harder for dumb ppl Razz I know I dislike suse a lot it is an OS that I dont like much even though I use it at my work place.

fedora damn I havent try it but probably I will because I like testing Linux distros but for now I will stick with gentoo I wanted it for like 2 years and now Finaly I have it and I amm blleding trough my hand and eyes trying to figer it out because it doesnt work Like I want it but THAT IS THE POINT that is why I went to gentoo to do stuff on my own and try to make it work Like I want.

  • AbsintheSyringe

No you didnt understand me Smile

I only tried suse one time, long time ago, and I couldnt be on it for 2weeks. But if it’s between ubuntu and suse, definetely suse.

I mean ubuntu is just funny, and that’s it. It’s just funny, and that’s my opinion Smile

  • AbsintheSyringe

And before I forget, fedora, just same as redhat, very professional, development tools are there, there’s yum if you need something.

You want something fixed? Konsole, you want something your way? Konsole. Simple as that.

  • BrencelJ

Ok I would chose Kubuntu over suse because suse is PAIN for me. and about fedora I dont know it but if it is like redhat it ist that cool because redhat is not good linux atleast not in the freeware idea but probably it is good OS I cant say it isnt because it is alive for a LONG time so it has to have some cool programs Grin.

  • AbsintheSyringe

“redhat is not good linux atleast not in the freeware idea” huh?

  • BrencelJ

Damn I really cant explane stuff :S.
Radhat isn’t free but it has some good suport and it has good software for there distro that they developed that is what I read on forums. I hadn’t try it. So I cant say from my personal experiment.

  • AbsintheSyringe

Brencel, first distro I was actually give the money for is RedHat,
even for personal use if not for enterprise. Everything that goes
through and goes well in Fedora and is well tested, (and it fedora has
around 1.200.000 users last time I checked) is being sent to RedHat
    for its released.

It comes with all open source stuff, which is also completely free and
even promotes using .ogg to the max, so I really dont know what’s not
    open source about it.

Another thing, in open source licence, it’s said that you can also
charge for that code, but you have to provide the source too. So I
really didnt get you or something.

  • BrencelJ

ha ha ha You don’t get me but that is just because of my lame explanation Grin but can’t explain bather than that :S sorry. so we should end this before I say some more stupid stuff Grin he he.
