Subject: Few technology questions from a “fan”
To: comments@zeitgeistmovie.com

Hello,

I’ve been watching and been enjoying it.

But, now in Zeitgeist Addendum I’ve come across a thing I cannot
simple pass by. If I haven’t made it clear so far, I’m not a
“standard” critic, I’m more of a guy who pretty much diggs your
stories, since I myself have come to pretty much same conclusion on
most of the things you’re talking about in Zeitgeist.

But without further ado, here’s my question, in Addendum at the end of
the movie (1:55:39) where you’re saying what we (the people) should do
to prevent what’s going on, you mention from quitting our job to what
to watch and what not to watch, and it’s all fine until last step
where you say to join the movement by going to
thezeitgeistmovement.com this is fine, but one thing just disturbs me
out of proportions.

In this same Addendum technology is one of the notably mentioned
topics, but I’m a IT Professional and Debian/Linux
contributor/developer and what disturbs me is that you typed that
thezeitgeistmovement.com in a Safari browser, or at least its outline,
a product of Apple Inc. this whole time you’re saying about this
monetary system and how people should quit their jobs at big banks and
that way boycott and stop feeding this monopoly while at the same time
you’re doing the same thing!

How dare you, who or what gives you the right? What you just did
should appear as a new definition of hypocrisy.

You don’t even deserve any right to discuss technology topics after
such a flaw. Oh right, maybe over there in US, being Apple user is
being a rebel, individual thinker and such … thinking differently
eh? But what you’re doing is the same thing what Microsoft is doing.
If anything you could have used Firefox which is available for MacOSX
as well.

Maybe the best solution would be if you used/are using Linux or Debian
for that matter, but of course you would have to know much more about
those same things in order to talk/write about the same. And after
this what or who gives you the right to even mention technology and
new world order, where technology is closely related to the whole
creation and establishment of this same “order”.

I demand answers! In the meantime do your homework which can be found on:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Firefox

If your goal was to fascinate kids with Addendum you surely made it,
but you haven’t told me anything I didn’t know except you exploited
yourself and your sources of knowledge.

Regards,

Adnan

I believe this could be interesting to both Linux and any other users really Smile

Since I have been working some time in video production business – audio/video editing is mostly done on mac’s especially.

Video editors / cgi artists / and all related people in brunch mostly use mac’s for personal computing also, and they also mostly use safari for web browsing – no matter that there are firefox, camino, etc… available for mac also. Simply safari is fastest/most stable web browser on mac.

What they have done on that video is what I have done couple of times myself – simply they wanted to put their web on the end of a video and editor/cgi artist fired up his safari – makes few screenshots and he is done for today.

It is not that they wanted to put some sublime message – it was simply a call of guy doing actual editing/cgi.

Producers probably don’t see any difference between browsers, what they saw is they url appearing and they were happy.

    exactly Adnans point!!

if they talk about tech stuff, and say the things they, say, but on the other hand do “what’s easier” and “right in front of them”, they are being hipocrits…

it’s like me saying “hey fuck M$, no body should use it”, and then go home, and start my Xbox and play games all night on it, just ‘cos i “like to play games, and Xbox has some great game Titles…it’s not my fault!”..

  • @Edis,

I do understand, but check this. First I wasn’t saying anything against Safari or anything, only thing I was saying is that they are being hypocrites.

I remember back while I was in the US, I used to literally sleep in movies/theaters. Since I was such a frequent visitor, somehow I managed to get to watch free movies along with free drinks/food and all I had to do is, watch a movie (before it’s even released to public) and rate it, that is complete the survey.

Now, this means that every movie before it was even release was rated and “shaped” by people, now I do understand Zeitgest wasn’t made in Hollywood and Zeitgeist most probably didn’t go through such “regulations”.

However, if you’re promoting and advocating such ideas and thoughts, then you have to take care over these things.

That’s why I called it a flaw, if you’re ready to present such ideas, be aware that some phreaks like myself might get into it as well, and after that, well I listened to you for 2 hours, now get ready to hear what I’ve got to say Smile
